Admissions
Application requirements
Trainees are required to meet the following basic requirements:You should be at least twenty years old. You should be a native speaker of English or hold the UCLES Certificate of Proficiency in English (or equivalent). You should hold sufficient qualifications to allow you to enter higher education in the U.K. (This requirement can be waived for trainees who can demonstrate suitable work experience.) Applicants are also required to attend an interview at which they will have to complete a language evaluation task.
Application procedure Firstly, complete an application form. You will then be sent a preparation sheet which you should complete before you are called to interview at the school. The interview is an opportunity to discuss teaching related issues, have a look around the school and for us to assess your suitability as an EFL teacher. You should bring along any diplomas or certificates you hold to the interview. Additionally you will be asked to complete a short written task in order to establish that your written English is adequate to cope with a course of this type. Successful applicants will then be sent a set of pre-course tasks to help you prepare for the course itself. Generally, it takes about twelve hours to complete this, however, this is time well spent and will provide a solid foundation for the language awareness component of the course.
