What to Expect
Our summer schools are based at university campuses throughout the UK. Centres will have between 100 and 700 students aged between 12 and 18 years old. Most students attend a 2-week course that provides 15 hours of language tuition, plus weekly full and half day excursionsas well as a variety of afternoon and evening on-site activities.
In most of our centres we teach morning and afternoon on a so called 'zig-zag' or 'double banked' programme. At these centres teacher will teach 4 90-minute lessons per day. Activities will be running morning, noon and night. So you can see it is a busy schedule for all concerned.
Life at summer school can be a baptism of fire and staff, even the most experienced, describe the experience as "intense". Staff and students spend a lot of time in each other's company, which, while it fosters a community spirit, also demands respect for one another and a strong sense of collective responsibility.
