	Geography Tour - 6 nights 4 Nights DAY 1 Arrive in the resort of Platja D’Aro (or similar resort) by your chosen mode of transport. Free time to settle in and explore the local area or to use the hotel’s excellent facilities before dinner. Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for visit to Estartit and the Islas Medes. This group of islands are situated at the heart of the Costa Brava and opposite the village of l'Estartit, within the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí, and 800 m from the coast. With a surface area of almost 22 ha, they constitute the most important group of islets in Catalonia. You’ll explore the Islas Medes by boat and then continue with a coastline study in Estartit. Return to the hotel. Evening meal at hotel restaurant. Day 3 Following breakfast you’ll visit the Lake of Banyoles. This is the main lake of Catalonia and is located in the North East of the Iberian Peninsula – near to the town of Gerona. The rest of the morning is spent at the Prehistoric Caves in Serinya and the historic town of Besalu . In the afternoon the group will visit the Volcanoes in Olot, one of the most important volcanic areas in Europe, located in the Northern Pyrennes on the border of France. You’ll finish the tour with a visit to the Susqueda Dam. This 135 metre high dam is located at the lower reaches of the Ter River where the geology of the area was composed of essentially intrusive material of metamorphic origin. Day 4 After breakfast you’ll visit the Gavarres Massif including Pedralta -Europe’s largest balancing rock. After lunch you’ll have free time either to work on your own projects or to do a spot of size grading on the local beach! Day 5 Breakfast and then free leisure time before you depart for the UK. transfer to Calais to pick up the ferry crossing.
